Inside the U.S. Embassy

Monday, June 09, 2014
A well deserved P-Day after our busy weekend and loooong drive on Sunday. Just posting some random pictures.
The Pugmire's brought this over as a condolence for the passing of Mike's Dad.

Elder Taylor, Head Office of finances.

Elder Gallagher, Head Office Secretary

Elder Quezada, Office Secretary
Elder Munoz, Financer  (soon to leave)

Hanging up in my office

Nice picture from the mission home. Sister Cook didn't want it so
it is on loan to me.

Laundry Day!  Notice my water storage in the background.

Looking up at everyone elses laundry!

Our power needs. Crazy!

We were asked by President Cook to go the U.S. Embassy today and participate in a meeting about emergency preparedness.  It was a good experience to go into the Embassy. Not many people get that opportunity.  I found the seminar quite interesting and I learned that texting during an emergency is better because the texts are held in que and eventually will go through.  Cell phones will just get a busy tone.
U.S. Embassy from the outside. Couldn't get pictures of the inside, of course!

We went for President Cook because today there was a 2 mission conference with Elder Robbins of the Quorum of the Seventies.  We went but we were an hour late because of our Embassy assignment. His talk was all in Spanish but once in a while he would throw in some English into his talk.  It was powerful to have so many missionaries in one location.

Buses packed the small street!
Alot of these missionaries won't get home until after midnight.
We packed 280 lunches to take on the bus with them.
