Shortest Day of the Year...Packed it full though

I made Blueberry Banana Nut Bread for the office elders today. I also made some lemon curd to spread on top!  Yummy!  I had to take this picture before the last of the 2 loaves were gone.

It is getting colder.  I think it is like Utah.  Clear skies mean colder weather.  Uruguay played their second Mundíal game today.  Didn't even need to watch it because once again while working in the office, big fireworks or shotguns went off as soon as they scored.  Their noise was faster than clicking on the google link for a quick update!  And then when they won 2-1, BIGGER noise and Mike said we better get home before the "too much drinking" people headed home.  They drive crazy enough without the alcohol in their systems.

A continuation of the sunrise in the countryside
Lunch in Vergara with the Elders in their new house.
Today was the shortest day of the year!  Wait....  I thought it was the longest day of the year?! My brain is so confused. Nonetheless, I am glad it is the shortest day of the year because that means the days will start to get longer and perhaps warmer!

We went back up to Vergara to take furniture and things to the Elders who were moving into the house we had found for them last week.  We brought the Pugmire's for their last countryside drive through Uruguay.
I brought lunch for us and the elders with my homemade bread.  They just loved the simple tuna fish sandwich. I left all my cookies for them too.

The sun felt sooo good!
We took Pugmire's to the waterfall that we went to last week and found people actually trusting the zip line that was there!

Elder and Sister Pugmire

So because turn about is fair play, the Pugmire's took us to what they have found to be the best pizza place in Uruguay.  And it was!  Most pizzas have no variety but this place had it all!  Very yummy.

We arrived back to our apartments about 9 pm and still wanted to bake a cake for Hermana Schaelling because today was her birthday.  So, I threw a banana chocolate chip cake together and we tried to keep it a surprise up in the Pugmire's apartment.

The cake was still too hot to put the candle into it, so we found a lid
to something or other... true missionary style!

Happy 21st BD Hermana Schaelling
