Things Falling Apart, Mike Included!

December 1 - 11, 2014

Our two weeks have been slowing down as far as traveling great distances.  I have been doing alot of office work along with some cooking for concilio on Dec 2nd.  Mike's left knee has not been good.  For almost a week, he could barely walk it hurt so bad. At the Pando Capilla Abierta, he had the missionaries give him a blessing.  He bought a knee brace which seems to help when he has to be up on his legs alot.  The best thing that has helped (besides the blessing), was putting ice on it as often as he could.
Other things that happened these past couple of weeks:

Mike was driving the van, turned the corner and lost all power in his steering.  When that happened, he figured he must be low on transmission fluid.  He took it into the shop and they were nice enough to drop everything and check it out.  It was a fitting that had not been tightened properly and so we had a slow leak.  I think Mike said they put in 3 quarts.  Wow, if that would have happened outside of Montevideo it would have been a much more difficult situation to remedy.  They also fixed the passenger's side mirror that broke when Mike hit a trash dumpster trying to avoid other crazy things.

Mike also lost part of his tooth.  I guess these two weeks have not been too good for him.  He seems to be falling apart fast!  Hope there is enough of him to bring home in a year!  :)

We were invited to Lautaro's 4th birthday celebration.  We only had an hour to stay before heading out to Pando for our Capilla Abierta.  Lautaro is the son of Jorge and Ivana, whom we have been working with in teaching them gospel principles.  Ivana is the sister of Camila who had the twin boys.
Kids around the world seem to like the same things.

Getting the fire ready to cook hot dogs and hamurgers.
It was a VERY hot, muggy day.

Camila's twin boys.

Lautaro the birthday boy.

Unfortunately there was no shade and it was
too hot to want to play in the bounce house.

We gave him the bubble gun blower
that Takoda had mailed to us a while ago.
I also gave him 2 post card of Christ.
He seemed to like them!
