Capilla Abierta in Maldonado 2.

Fun to watch this baby girl.

YouTube:  Maldonado 2 Capilla Abierta

Maldonado 2 was prepared well for their open chapel.  The members participated in great numbers. The ward mission leader did a great job in managing the tours.  I was impressed with the young mother that came in with several children.  She did the whole tour even with so many little children. This was a successful event.

They have amazing creativity.

Our youngest reference giver.

This young woman speaks some English.
She befriended me when I first arrived
in Uruguay and I worked in the baptistry
at the temple. She was a youth patron.

Election day for Uruguay.  We went to church in Aeroparque because most of the church buildings are used as voting places.  It was nice to visit there again. We did our first Capilla Abierta in that ward.  It was also a nice break not to do a capacitacion today.

The beach is drawing more crowds.

We did a whirlwind tour of the countryside today.  We brought the Harris' with us because they had a day off from their temple duties.  We mainly did deliveries of gas heaters, but there were some deliveries of packages from home and fixing of this and that throughout the day.

We had turbulent weather which made for
a beautiful, scenic drive.

A real, live, "Dumbo type" traveling circus!

This is the city of Paso de los Toros.

Their old cathedral.

Now maybe you can guess the city's name in English.

Guess the translation for camping...
Camping.
We arrived back to Montevideo around 2 am and it seemed we chased the storm all the way to the ocean.  We had quite a magnificent lightning show out in the interior. Several pronged lightning bolts and lots of lit up clouds.  We unloaded the trailer and dropped off the Harris' at the temple block and the rain had just started.  By the time we got to our apartment which is only 10 minutes, we had a full on storm.  Mike dropped me off by the curb and I have never had such a hard time walking, the wind was so strong!  If it wasn't for the handrail going up the middle of our stairs outside, I think the wind may have won.  The handrails kept me from blowing back into the street. I also thought I would lose my computer bag!  The pictures and video do not do it justice.
Taken from inside the foyer of our apartment building.
