At church today,
they merged two wards back together. It
felt good. I can only judge by feelings because of my lack of understanding the language. I think everyone was excited
to be back together again. It was
probably like the feelings that Ojai had when they came back together. The chapel was full. Relief Society had no chairs left
vacant. I play the piano when no one
else is there to play. There is strength in
numbers and with this fresh start, we hope to be able to help the members reach
out to their friends who are not coming to church.

This evening, we
noticed that the road behind our apartment had been blocked and people were
starting to gather. Hermana Berrios had
found out that a parade was coming down to celebrate “Carnival”. Here is a link that gives a bit more
information.

If you read that link,
then you will have a better understanding of the video that I took of our “carnival”.
I will say that some
of the women’s costumes (or lack thereof), made us turn around and go home
early.

The only float with lights... oh wait...the ONLY float! |
|
If you look close you can see the man pushing the ONLY float, just like the Ojai/Fillmore days! |

Only one person carrying this flag. Good thing there was no wind! |
